Items

RiddleMeThis supports several kinds of items in forms.

Display Items.

These items provide information or a stimulus, but do not require or record the user's response.

Text. Displays the text entered (in bold).

Picture. Displays the image provided.

Video. Displays the (QuickTime) video provided. Three options are provided for videos.

Interactive Items

These items require a response and record that response in a named column.

Multiple-Choice Question. This is a multiple-choice (or "categorical") question. You can implement "true/false" and "yes/no" questions easily enough as two choice questions. Click the Add button to add more response options.

Range-Response Question. This is a question requiring a "continuous" range of responses from one to another extreme. You have the option of labelling the extremes and (if there is one) the middle response (the middle label will disappear if your range has no middle option, i.e. there are only an even number of possible values in your range).

Pick Image Question. This is a question requiring the user to select from a number of images. The images may be captioned if you want. Click the Add button to add more response options.

Creating a Text Response Question

The same question at runtime

Text-Response Question. This is a question requiring the user to enter some text. If you allow multi-line responses, any carriage-returns will be encoded as "\n" in the session files.
